Curriculum
This lesson provides a quick tour of the Microsoft 365 Copilot course. The video introduces the course structure, principal learning outcomes, available study paths and safe-practice rules you should follow throughout your training.
This course combines practical demonstrations, guided exercises, independent practice, downloadable resources and chapter quizzes. You can complete every lesson in order or concentrate on the sections most relevant to your goals.
Some features may vary according to your Microsoft account, subscription, licence, device or organization. When your screen differs from a demonstration, focus on the underlying process and learning objective.
Always review Copilot-generated content before using or sharing it. Confirm important facts and follow any applicable privacy, security, confidentiality and acceptable-use policies.
Use fictional, anonymized or non-sensitive information for practice whenever possible. Do not enter confidential or restricted information unless you have permission to process it within your Copilot environment.
The course will help you build practical Copilot skills while maintaining human judgment, careful verification and responsible information handling.
The fastest way to get lost in a large course is to treat every lesson as equally urgent. This lesson gives you a map. By the end, you will know what to take first, what you may postpone, how each lesson is structured, and the safety rules that apply from your first prompt onward.
This course progresses from first use to advanced personal and workplace workflows. You will learn Copilot Chat, Microsoft 365 applications, cross-application workflows, agents, administration, privacy, security, troubleshooting and continuous improvement. “Step by Step” means I will define essential terms, show the task, let you practise, and give you a way to verify the result.
Most lessons follow the same cycle: demonstrate, explain, guided practice, independent challenge, verify, reflect, and assess. Watch the demonstration once without pausing if you prefer. Then use the transcript or written guide to repeat it. Generative output varies, so compare your process and evidence—not exact wording—with the reference output.
The Comprehensive Path includes all 36 sections. The Personal Path emphasizes consumer and personal-productivity scenarios. The Workplace Path emphasizes Microsoft 365 work accounts, collaboration and organizational data. The Accelerated Path lets experienced learners focus on the diagnostic, prompting, verification, relevant applications, workflows, responsible use and capstone. Administrators, security professionals and agent makers have advanced optional pathways later in the course.
At the start of a feature demonstration, look for the entitlement capsule. It tells you the account type, subscription or licence, platform, tenant policy, region or language, rollout state and date checked. If your result differs, compare the capsule before assuming you made a mistake.
Rule one: use only authorized data. Rule two: treat output as a draft. Rule three: trace important claims to evidence. Rule four: independently check numbers, names, dates, quotations and consequential advice. Rule five: understand sharing and permissions before publishing. Rule six: preserve human judgment. Rule seven: stop and ask your administrator when workplace policy is unclear.
In LearnPress, complete the video or written lesson, download the assigned resource, perform the practice task, and use the knowledge check. Each section ends with a chapter quiz. Section 1 delivers eight scored questions from a larger bank. The passing score is 80 percent, with up to three attempts. Explanations appear after submission and point you back to the exact lesson.
Open the Course Pathway Map and highlight your primary path. Then open Safe Practice Rules and place a check beside each rule you can follow now. Mark any workplace policy question to confirm with your administrator.
You now know how to move through the course without trying to learn everything at once. In the next lesson, you will use Copilot immediately and turn rough notes into a useful action plan.
